Aloha,
After about ~17 hours of racing around the island of Oahu in mostly light winds, all competitors had gone west, it came to a surprising and nerve racking finish in the channel to determine places 1 through 3. Ikaika was the first boat to enter the channel, leading the fleet, but having lost all her wind, she was passed by Siesta at about the fueldock in ~0.5 kts of wind, at which point Prima came screaming into the channel, still carrying her pretty and brand new kite and flying to the finish, also passing Ikaika at the fueldock. Siesta's patience and light wind skills rolled her and her crew of 13 into the finish at 6:33:17, after 17 hours 38 minutes and 11 seconds, winning this year's Holo Holo! Congratulations go to Curtis Collins and his crew, as well as to the crews of Prima Donna, Ikaika, Fins and Isis who all sailed a great race!
